Working in partnership with the Metropolitan Police this Christmas

In recent weeks, our award-winning New West End Company (NWEC) Security Team has been working closely with the Metropolitan Police in a joint response to tackle problems within the local area, which typically see a rise during the Christmas period.

As part of their key services, NWEC work to make London’s West End – including Oxford Street, Bond Street and Regent Street – a safe and welcoming place to visit. More recently, during the company’s month-of-action initiative, their work has extended taking their positive impact on the community to new heights.

During some of London’s busiest weeks of the year, our team provided extra resources to offer enhanced support to local businesses. Referred to as Operation West End, the initiative saw our NWEC street patrol and dog handler team work collaboratively with the Met Police to tackle targeted street crime, such as pick-pocketing, phone snatches, robbery and store crime. The team focused on making Mayfair and Piccadilly safer this Christmas.

NWEC’s commitment to ensuring the safety of the West End has meant that many of London’s most iconic tourist hotspots have offered the best visitor experience during their busiest time of year.
