We would like to say a huge congratulations to our long serving team member, Ben Clifton. Ben has been with #TeamFGH since 2008 and worked in a variety of roles in both the office and the front line. More recently he has undertaken his Level 5 in Crowd Management, can be found undertaking Security Management positions at sites such as Chester Racecourse.
A keen amateur endurance specialist, Ben’s most recent endeavour included climbing 9 Peaks in 48 hours. Specifically, this includes the National 3 Peaks, Yorkshire 3 Peaks and Welsh 3 Peaks. Setting off late on Friday 30th June, Ben completed the challenge with an hour to spare! His total ascent was nearly the same as climbing Mount Everest from sea level.
Ben raised a total of £6,500 for North West Cancer Research, whilst also proudly waving an FGH Security flag from each of the nine different peaks. Commenting on his achievement, the morning after, Ben said
“My legs don’t like me. Going downstairs is not fun and my left foot which was slightly swollen is now more swollen. Other than that, just tired”.
Peter Harrison, MD, commented;
“We’re always very proud of Ben and this weekend is no exception to that. His positive mindset and his endurance are just phenomenal, and I am sure they both contribute to his ongoing success at work too – a big well-done Ben”.
