This weekend saw FGH’s first deployment to Rewind North. The 80’s festival wowed audiences at the beautiful Capesthorne Hall from the 4th-5th August. Iconic acts such as Tiffany, Billy Ocean, The Boomtown Rats and Legendary headliners The Jacksons took to the stage.
The event now spans 3 venues; Scotland, Henley-on-Thames and Macclesfield with the hugely popular festivals being a highlight for thousands of devoted fans here to see 80’s Gold. This the 10th year of the festival saw 45,000 people attend in Macclesfield.
We deployed over 260 SIA Security Staff and Stewards to oversee the security provision and safety at Rewind North. As this was our first time at the festival every staff member was briefed and saw an onsite orientation before the gates opened to give maximum service delivery to the public.
Duties the security staff undertook included bag searches on entrances to control items being carried into the venue and maintaining communication with the Rewind North organisers, medical teams and local police to provide the best possible service.
The team has since been praised for their excellent customer service skills, and friendly and helpful approach. Thankfully for festival goers and out staff after the bad weather that plagued the Kendal Calling Festival last weekend the weather stayed dry. The blazing sunshine helped boost the atmosphere, spirits of the team and the positivity of the crowd.
Mark Hussey, Training & Development Officer and Security Manager said, “The teams worked really well at Rewind over the weekend. Friday was very challenging for the team on the campsite entrance, but they all pulled together and did a fantastic job which continued to over the weekend. We have since received praise for making visitors feel welcome and keeping them smiling. Well done to all those that worked Rewind North!”
