FESTIVAL SEASON RETURNS
May Bank Holiday weekend saw FGH’s first festival deployment of 2019 to ‘Neighbourhood Weekender’. The festival returned for a second year (since announcing its return in 2020) and brought with it some of the finest musical talent to Warrington’s Victoria Park. The big name acts included the 4 times platinum singer/songwriter, George Ezra, Nothing But Thieves, Maximo Park, Tom Grennan, You Me At Six and Sunday headliner, the legendary Richard Ashcroft and many more. Since its beginnings in 2018 Neighbourhood Weekender has expanded further into Victoria Park and includes more activities and artists. Luckily for the attending crowd the weather stayed (mostly) dry with warm weather boosting the festival atmosphere that Neighbourhood is becoming renowned for.
FGH deployed 279 SIA Security Staff and Stewards to oversee the security provision and safety of the 35,000+ festival goers, artists and crew. Our team delivered exceptional customer service to the public with duties including security searches, routine patrols inside and outside the grounds and securing facilities and crew campsites. By using our pioneering scientific approach we worked closely with Neighbourhood Weekender organisers to minimise risk and maximise safety. No major incidents took place at the park and we are happy to report the weekend passed peacefully. The NBHD management were happy with the security and pleased to collaborate with FGH again. The council and police also spoke positively of the security provision and the improvements made to the egress operation.
Security Manager Lewis Walsh said, “It was great to have the festival team deployed at Neighbourhood Weekender, this is our first large scale event of the 2019 festival season. The team provided an excellent service and have received great feedback from the public on social media and verbally at the festival. I’m very proud of the way the team conducted themselves and look forward to working side by side the team at our next event. A positive start to an exciting season ahead”
