We are excited to announce that Mel Nortcliffe has been named as a finalist in the ‘Outstanding Female Security Professional’ category at the Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs).
Mel joined FGH Security in 2022 as an Assistant Operations Manager in our Events and Festivals Team, bringing with her over a decade of experience in the security industry. Her expertise quickly made an impact, with some of her early deployments including flying to Australia for Splendour in the Grass, where she supported safety and operations with Senior Operations Manager, Mark McQuade, and Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, where her outstanding leadership saw her promoted to Lead Security Manager alongside Mark in 2023.
Mel has also played a vital role in some of the UK’s largest events. One of which was her leadership as Security Manager for the Liverpool Eurovision Song Contest, where she oversaw a team of over 400, managing crowd control, security briefings, and asset protection. She has since received outstanding feedback from clients and team members alike from this deployment.
Mel fully embodies FGH’s values, particularly Look After Our Team, by mentoring future managers through our Management Training Programme. Her dedication to developing her team has included supporting Sierra 1 and 2 qualifications, ensuring they are equipped to handle both emergencies and operational challenges.
Mel’s professionalism, leadership, and commitment to our purpose of Keeping People Safe and Be Great Today, Better Tomorrow make her an invaluable part of our team.
Congratulations, Mel!
