Find new ways to give back to society
The Manchester Pride Spring Benefit took place last night at the Victoria Warehouse. The benefit is a spectacular social event aimed at raising further funds for the good causes supported by the Manchester Pride Community Fund. Since 2003 the charity has raised over £1.3 million to support good causes linked to the LGBT community, such as the George House Trust, and to support organisations in delivering projects to assist people living with HIV. Besides the fantastic entertainment, which included Rebecca Ferguson, Lucy Spraggan and Dean Mac, there was the event’s renowned auction which raised thousands of pounds. Guests bided on a range of lots, from a private yacht trip around Majorca to an executive box for Lionel Ritchie at the Manchester Arena.
FGH Security provided security for the event and our staff were at the forefront of welcoming guests and helping to set the tone for the evening. “It was a fantastic event as always,” said David Hassall (Senior Manager). “The Manchester Pride team never disappoint when it comes to their Spring Benefit and this year was no exception. Behind the glitz and glamour though the money raised on the night goes on to make a real difference in peoples’ lives and it was nice to see Sam (FGH staff member) win two return flights to Barcelona in the raffle. It certainly beats a cuddly toy or a bottle of wine.
