We are proud to announce that Lewis Johnson was presented with a Certificate of Excellence for going above and beyond expectation by the Thames Valley Police. This award commended his bravery and instincts that led him to save a life.
At FGH Security, our purpose is to Keep People Safe, and occasionally our team is faced in situations where their actions may prevent harm or even save someone’s life. Last summer, Lewis Johnson was in one of these situations where his quick thinking and persistence led to him ensuring the safety of a young child during festival season.
Lewis joined FGH Security in 2022 and has been a key part of our Events and Festivals team for over two years working as a Door Supervisor. Working as part of some of our biggest festivals throughout the summer, including Truck Festival, Bournemouth 7’s and Glastonbury.
This year he was named our FGH Hero for his efforts with a safeguarding issue on site at one of our festivals last year that prevented the harm of a young child and ensured their safety. These efforts were recognised by the Thames Valley Police and he was presented this year with an award celebrating his excellence on stage by Chief Superintendent Ben Clark, who commended his quick thinking and persistence during the incident.
Lewis commented on the award ceremony: “I’m honoured to receive this award! I’d like to give thanks to Thames Valley police and the ambulance service for their swift response to the incident, as well as members of my team who were there to support me throughout. I want to reiterate the importance of trusting your gut—if you feel like something is off, then you should always follow your instincts.”
Congratulations, Lewis; this is an outstanding achievement.
