This winter, FGH Security have been working hard at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, marking their second year Keeping People Safe at Europe’s largest winter event.
Held in London’s Hyde Park, the annual event receives over 2 million visitors a year, making this one of our largest deployments in the event’s calendar. Whilst the Christmas fun does not start until mid November for visitors, the work for TeamFGH started way back in March, when the initial planning for the event began.
The events team are responsible for a number of key roles during their 46 days on site, including scanning all entry tickets, searches, control room operations, response teams, and 24/7 site protection.
The entire team worked exceptionally hard over the deployment, but two team members – Mel and Daniel – are deserving of a special mention. Alongside playing key roles in the preparation of the event, they enabled our front line team to perform their best, ensuring they had everything they need to excel and provide an excellent standard of customer service. It goes without saying that this deployment is typically cold, damp and dark, but the team never lost their Christmas cheer.
The dedication from all of the team didn’t go amiss from Operations Risk Manager, Mark McQuade. He commented:
“It can easily be forgotten that the FGH Security team looked after as many visitors each day at Hyde Park, than you get visiting any of London’s largest stadiums. This is done in all types of weather, across 46 event days, and the team managed to maintain high standards throughout, resulting in a very smooth delivery. For me, seeing the growth in our team from our first year to this years deployment was very rewarding.”
Planning has already started for Winter Wonderland 2023 and we can’t wait to be back at Hyde Park in just a few months’ time.
