Recently, some of our team had the pleasure of presenting to the General Entertainment Authority, Takamol Holding, and the fellowship programme on behalf of ESM’s Operation Training Programme.
Delegates from the GEA added visits to New Century Hall, a live music venue in Manchester, and Cartmel Racecourse in Grange-over-Sands, during their training with ESM Operations.
The trip to New Century Hall was hosted by Harry, Jen, and Cameron from FGH Security. Cameron, Security Manager, led a tour for the delegates and spoke about crowd management and the challenges faced in a smaller live music venue vs. large-scale events.
Cameron commented:
“I’m grateful to be invited to share my experiences and the knowledge I’ve gained over my time with FGH. After working at Soundstorm and F1 in Saudi Arabia, I know the importance of upskilling and feel like I have a connection to the country. I love the fact that what I’ve spoken about today is something that could develop the industry on an international scale. The privilege to host this at my core venue is not only a great opportunity for myself but for the venue too.”
Jen, Resourcing Manager, also presented to the group. She said:
“I had the opportunity of speaking with delegates from ESM’s Operation Training Programme during their time in the UK on Resource Management and Contingency Planning. It was great to meet the attendees and share knowledge on my past experiences preparing for major festivals and events and lessons learned over the past 3 years. The expansion of live events in the UAE is so exciting, creating hundreds of jobs and providing career pathways and professional development in an exciting industry.”
Dave and Matt led a tour and Q&A session at Cartmel Racecourse. They spoke about what a typical race day looks like, how the deployment is managed, and challenges faced.
Matt said:
“It was great to welcome the delegates from the GEA to the UK and fantastic to be able to take them around to share some insight into how we run events and venues in the UK.”
We’d like to thank ESM for the opportunity to be a part of their Operation Training Programme.
