Hyde Park Winter Wonderland started as an open-air Christmas market in London’s Hyde Park, and in the space of 15 years, has turned into the huge winter event that it is known as today – with ice skating, roller coaster rides, fairground games and festive bars.

In 2021, we were proudly awarded the contract for the event, which welcomes over 2 million visitors a year.

For customers, the event starts mid-November and is open for 46 days in total, typically ending at the start of January. For Team FGH, however, the planning begins way before this. The team have been known to begin the preparations sometimes as early as March, to ensure that we provide the best possible security.

As well as the event days, the team are also on site for the build and break. Their main responsibilities throughout the deployment include scanning entry tickets, performing searches,  24/7 site protection, control room operations and providing internal and external response teams.

The team are looking forward to returning and Keeping People Safe for many years to come.
