Local causes in the areas we operate in. We aim to make a real difference in the communities we operate in and help to support a number of localised charities, from Unique Kids through to CancerCare.

Seasonal drives with key partners

Over the years this has included a range of initiatives ranging from working with homeless charities through to donating and distributing toys to children’s charities at Christmas time.

Taking part in national initiatives

Such as Movember which aims to raise awareness of the issues effecting men’s health in the UK. It’s not just about growing moustaches though as each year we organise a charity climb.

Our Accreditations

Initiatives designed to keep people safe in the wider community

Our Evading Violent Encounters (EVE) scheme is a course which is completely funded by FGH and open to all. It aims to raise awareness of women when out in social situations or who work in any industry where they deal with the public how to avoid and remove themselves from potentially dangerous situations. It is our aim to have delivered this to over 10,000 across the country by 2020 at a range of festivals, events and venues, completely free of charge.

Carbon Neutral and thinking about our impact

We work with the Woodland Trust to fully offset our carbon footprint each year and reduce this by 10% each year. Through our ISO 14001 accreditation we aim to reduce the amount of waste we produce as a business each year and actively encourage our employees to think about the impact which they have. Together we’re trying to make the planet better.

Best professional and personal achievement

This is a really tough one. I am very fortunate to have such an amazing team around me and to be constantly offered so many opportunities with both FGH Security and the Royal Marines.

Highlights so far:
1. Appearing on BBC Dragons Den,
2. Climbing Mont Blanc,
3. Running 72 miles coast to coast,
4. Gaining my Green Beret,
5. Standing on stage with my team every time we win a new award.

Bio

I founded FGH Security when I was a first-year student aged 19. I was sick and tired of security companies treating my friends really badly. It was meant to be just a little bit of pocket money whilst I studied. By the time I graduated we had 60 people in our team so I decided to pursue it full time.

We have been very fortunate to have some amazing customers that have taken us on their growth journeys over the past fifteen years.

Every day is just amazing at work. I am very lucky to be involved in so many projects and to work with so many really great passionate people.

Being deployed – I enjoy the ever-changing nature of being deployed and travelling to different events all over the country. With events coming back this summer, I cannot wait to be back in the fields and in the middle of all the fun. However, the Lancaster Student Union (Sugarhouse) will always be my go-to venue to work at as it’s a natural fit with me being a Lancaster Uni student.

My main priority is to ensure that Peter can operate as efficiently as possible so he can spend lots of time with customers and developing the organisation. I usually join Peter to visit customers, conducting surveys, organising meetings and carrying out lots of behind-the-scenes administration.

My job is extremely varied and no two days are ever the same. Some days I will be assisting Peter with his tasks, and other days I will be assisting other areas of the organisation like Logistics, HR or even Operations.

During Festival season I can be found in the HUB, managing a small team to assist the Ops Managers getting the Frontline team ready for work. This involves the allocation of radios and other PPE, signing in and out, and general welfare checks.
