Royal Marine 1000 Press Up Challenge

fgh-security-company-team-after-the-challengeFGH has strong ties to the British Armed Forces, particularly the Royal Marines, and we always aim to help when it comes to their fund raising and charity activity. The Royal Marines 1,000 Press Up Challenge is an annual event which is organised to raise funds for the Royal marines Charitable Trust Fund which helps injured service personnel and those returning from active service. Every year we encourage as many of our staff as possible to take part and this year was no exception and we actively publicised the event through our own media channels to our Door Supervisors, Event Security staff and Security Guards.

The Challenge took place yesterday at the Royal Navy Head Quarters in Liverpool and saw participants taking part in a series of exercise stations followed by a round of ten press ups. Rather than just making it to 1,000 press ups each our team did 1,200 press ups each.

Pete Harrison said, “It was great for the Royal Marines to invite FGH Security to take part in this event again this year.  I must say that the “1000 press up” title is mildly misleading though – we actually did 1200 press ups and over an hour worth of other exercises ranging from squats to burpees!  The team put in an enormous amount of effort and should be commended.”

With help from the Royal Marines, Liverpool Karate Club and FGH Security the event raised over £2,000 for the trust fund.
