Last Saturday FGH Security provided staff to The Manchester Junior and Mini Runs for the 5th year. The event is organised by Nova International, who also organise the Great Run and Great Swim series of events, and saw more than 2,000 children sprinting around Heaton Park. The mini course was 2 kilometres and saw a number of parents running alongside their children whilst the junior course was 2 miles long and a slightly more competitive event. FGH staff were on hand to work with event organisers to help manage the huge number of spectators, provide helpful points of contact and ensure that everyone enjoyed the day as much as possible and provide encouragement to the children taking part.
“This is another fantastic Nova event and highlights the breadth of ability that our staff have,” explained Alex Redman, who was the Operations Manager responsible for overseeing the event. “Each year the run continues to grow in size and it is great to be part of such an inclusive event which sees children of all abilities taking part. While it does still get a little competitive the general atmosphere is really supportive and every child taking part really enjoys themselves. We understand that the event organisers have a legal requirement to have some crowd marshalling and security measures in place however it is really important to us that we actively contribute to the event and ensure that each participant and their families go away with a really positive experience from the day. Nova are also great to work with as they have the same organisational values that we have and put their customers first.”
