The Security Excellence Awards are internationally recognised as the highest accolade awarded within the UK security industry.  We are proud to have been finalists or Award winners consistently over the past five years.

2009: Award winner for Best Practice in Door Supervision.  Finalists in Security Guarding Company of the Year, Contract Security Manager of the Year, Event Security Team of the Year and SIA Approved Contractor Champion of the Year categories.  This was the highest number of nominations bestowed upon any company for this year.

2010: Award winner for SIA Approved Contractor Champion of the Year and finalists in Best Practice in Door Supervision, Customer Care Initiative of the Year and Event Security Team of the Year.  Again we topped the table for the highest number of nominations that year.

2011: Award winner for Best Practice in Door Supervision and finalists in Event Security Team of the Year.  FGH is the only company to have been awarded Best Practice in Door Supervision twice in the awards history.

2012: Finalist in the The SIA ACS Champion of the Year category.  The SIA ACS Champion of the Year category is only open to SIA Approved Contractors.  Our nomination served to highlighted work undertaken on behalf of the scheme, both in terms of client education and implementation of a range of innovations and FGH specific operating practices.  We were also finalists in the  Event Security Team of the Year category which recognised us as one of the best providers of event stewarding, security and crowd control.

2013: Finalists in three categories; ACS Champion of the Year, Event Security Team of the Year and Security Guarding Company of the Year.  We were nominated for the ACS Champion of the Year award due to our continual endeavours to improve of industry standards and our wider outreach work.  The Event Security Team of the Year award highlighted the work we had done with Kendal Calling to help it rank as the best festival in the country.  Finally, the Security Guarding Company of the Year award highlighted our excellent staff training and service delivery levels and the continued large growth in the public sector side of the business.  The Security Excellence Awards continue to be internationally recognised as the highest accolade for the UK security industry.

2014: Finalists in six categories (a record for the awards); ACS Champion of the Year, Event Security Team of the Year, Security Guarding Company of the Year, Customer Care Initiative of the Year, Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of the Year and Security Training Initiative of the Year . Award winner for Event Security Team of the Year for our work throughout the year helping to improve our clients’ events even further and all of the added value elements that we provide as standard compared to our competitors. We were nominated for ACS Champion of the Year due to the work we do in furthering the aims of the SIA and spearheading the security industry. We were nominated for Security Guarding Company of the Year for the continued high standards of service delivery and staff development at the heart of FGH. Our Customer Care Initiative of the Year nomination focused around our innovative #tentwatch crime reduction scheme which has helped make Kendal Calling one of the safest festivals in the country. Our nomination for Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of the Year was for the work we have done in reducing youth unemployment in out catchment area and our employment outreach schemes. Finally, our Security Training Initiative of the Year nomination was for the detailed staff development program we have implemented to enhance our succession planning within the company.

Red Rose Business Awards

2014: FGH Security won the Commitment to Skills Award at the Red Rose Business Awards.  The award highlighted the company’s on-going commitment to a highly trained and adaptable workforce and staff development.  FGH beat seven other finalists selected from hundreds of entrants from across Lancashire to win the award.  The judges said, “FGH Security showed passion and enthusiasm to training both internally and externally and commitment to the long-term unemployed and young people.”

The award places our training ethos above that of our competitors is stands testament to the focus placed on training since our foundation and the “real” benefit that this provides to our client-base.  FGH’s entry concentrated on three key areas of the business; leadership development, professional development and placing young people into sustainable employment.

Finalist in Best Policing Partnership of the Year (for our ongoing work with Cumbria Constabulary) and Guarding Service Delivery to Customers.  We were selected as finalists in these two categories ahead of some larger international security companies.
